Brazilian BJJ Body is a mobile app built for athletes who train and study Brazilian jiu-jitsu. It helps users structure their learning process - save techniques, build a personal library, add moves to a training focus, and create playlists for easy review. The app works as a personal training assistant for those who want to sharpen their technique and plan sessions more effectively.

  • what we did

We designed the full UX/UI for a mobile app built around technique management and training organization. The architecture covers a technique library, playlists, InFocus section, dashboard, and archive - all connected by a logical, lightweight structure. The onboarding tutorial introduces the app’s functionality step by step, so users navigate confidently from day one. The focus throughout was simplicity, visual clarity, and smooth interaction with content.

Project Highlights

  • 01

    Goal

Build a clean, functional mobile app for BJJ athletes that gives them real tools to organize their training. The core purpose: a single place to save and search techniques, create personal playlists, and mark what they’re actively working on right now.

  • 02

    Challenge

Design an intuitive interface that makes managing a personal technique library feel effortless. Key requirements: smooth creation, search, and archiving of techniques; fast entry for new records; and playlist tools that hold up during actual training sessions - not just at a desk.

  • 03

    Solution

We built a full-featured app for managing BJJ techniques - from discovery to active practice to archive. An interactive onboarding tutorial gets new users up to speed without friction. Users can create, sort, and archive techniques, build personal playlists, and organize their library. The InFocus section surfaces what they’re actively working on directly in the dashboard.

Onboarding

A simple and engaging onboarding flow that introduces users to the app’s purpose and helps them quickly start managing their BJJ training content.

Additionally, every entry displays its Mastery level and the training style: Gi, No-Gi, or both, helping users systematize their knowledge base and personalize their training approach.

Entry Creation & Details

Users can create new entries by adding techniques, training style, and mastery level, as well as attach links or files for reference. Each entry includes detailed information, custom tags, and a progress tracking picker - the tracked data is later displayed in the Dashboard section, helping users stay aware of their current training focus and overall activity.
