  • Company

Our client is a luxury florist offering premium handcrafted floral arrangements, gift collections, and same-day delivery across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
The online store is the main way customers discover and order flowers for life’s important moments - birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, sympathy, and celebrations. Customers can browse collections by occasion or flower type, customize an arrangement, add a personal card message, and schedule same-day delivery or store pickup in just a few steps.

  • What We Did

We designed a conversion-focused e-commerce website for the brand. We worked on the homepage as a landing page built to drive orders, a mega menu for quick navigation, catalog and collection pages with filtering, a product page with flexible customization, and a cart that guides customers through every order detail, with responsive layouts for desktop and mobile.

Special attention was given to making every order detail easy to understand - from choosing a size and extra blooms to adding a card message and selecting delivery or pickup - so customers always know what they are ordering, how much it costs, and when it will arrive.

Challenges

  • 01

    Designing a Conversion-Focused Homepage

The homepage needed to turn visitors into buyers from the very first screen. The challenge was to lead them to a relevant arrangement quickly through clear calls to action, visible same-day delivery messaging, and trust signals, while maintaining the elegant, premium feel of the brand.

  • 02

    Simplifying Product Customization

Each arrangement comes in several sizes and color palettes, with optional extra blooms at an additional cost. The experience needed to make these choices clear and easy to compare, showing how each option affects the final price, so customers can add the right arrangement to the cart with confidence.

  • 03

    Making Order Details Intuitive

Card messages, notes to the designer, local delivery or store pickup, dates, and same-day cutoff times all shape a single order. The design needed to bring these details together in the cart in a clear, logical order, so customers can review and complete their order without confusion or missed steps.

Homepage & Brand Storytelling

The homepage opens with an emotional, image-led hero that captures the premium character of the brand, while same-day ordering stays just one click away. As visitors scroll, curated collections and floral categories turn inspiration into clear paths to the right arrangement.

Same-Day Delivery Cutoff

A live countdown shows how much time is left to order for same-day delivery - in the top bar on every page and right above the total on the product page, next to the Add to Cart button. The same message reappears in the cart, keeping timing clear at every key step and encouraging customers to complete their order in time.

Mega Menu Navigation

Collections open into a mega menu that groups arrangements by occasion and flower type, with best sellers shown alongside. Customers can go straight to a relevant collection or a popular product from any page, making navigation faster and more visual.

Shop by Occasion & Category

The catalog starts with visual tiles for birthdays, sympathy, anniversaries, congratulations, and signature floral collections. Below, a consistent product grid with availability labels helps customers compare arrangements at a glance and quickly narrow down their choice.

Collection Pages & Filtering

Each collection opens with a short introduction to the occasion, followed by availability and price filters, sorting, and a grid view switch. Clean product cards and a “show more” pattern keep large collections easy to browse without overwhelming the page.

Cart, Delivery & Pickup

The cart brings every order detail into one place. Each item has its own card message and an optional note to the designer, with size and add-ons shown as tags. Customers then choose local delivery or store pickup, pick a date, and add instructions, while a sticky order summary keeps the total and next step always visible.

Mobile Experience

Many flowers are ordered on the go, so every page was adapted for mobile. Layouts stack into a single column, imagery stays prominent, and key actions remain within easy reach - from browsing collections to customizing an arrangement and completing the order with just a few taps.

Conclusion

The project brought together brand presentation, product discovery, and a clear ordering flow into one cohesive shopping experience for a luxury florist. The design focused on preserving the elegance of the brand while removing friction from the path to purchase.

A conversion-focused homepage, a visual mega menu, structured collections with filtering, flexible product customization, and a cart that combines personal messages with delivery scheduling work together to guide customers from inspiration to order. The result is a refined experience that stays true to the brand’s premium character, while making choosing and sending flowers simpler and more intuitive.
